Prior to our final training camp which we are currently on our way to from our various houses in Cape Town, was the official Media Launch that was held at the Grand West Arenas members lounge.
Various special guests were invited along with members from provincial government, the city of Cape Town who are the tournaments official sponsors, media groups and finally the SA team as the stars.
Dressed in their green and gold tracksuits and most in awe of the lengths of what was taking place, the launch commenced with introduction of the panel and brief overview of the events procedures by Canadian Kyle Martin who is the media liason for the duration of the tournament.
Faldi Samaai then took to the floor and briefly spoke about the tournament along with a representative from the City of Cape Town.
Finally the floor was opened to the public with roaring silence but finally got underway with some straight forward questions that were answered with joy and optimism by head coach Ronnie Wood and Team SA captain Jack Valadas.
The team will be meeting up for their final camp which leads directly into the tournament. The entire team will be returning to Cape Town on Saturday 9th where they move into their new homes at the Cape Town based hotel.
They will be on the ice for a final practice on Sunday morning.
